Well. As normal, I didn’t mean to leave it so long between posts but life happens.
After 2 and a half nice long weeks off, I started my new job on Tuesday.
I LOVE IT.
It’s so organised, well planned. There is a system that really works and the workload is varied. I won’t be getting bored too quickly.
When I start at 9.30 we crack on with the fresh salad and fruit salad prep and prepare for breaktime making bacon or sausage baguettes and bagels. At 10.45 the kids come through and buy lots of snack bits from the hot hold, the sandwiches, pasties and pizza go well.
So. Much. Pizza.
Then it’s back into the kitchen for dinner prep and making panini’s and just about getting everything ready for dinner service. Something I am much more comfortable with and quicker at than I first expected. Today it was roast pork with all the trimmings or jacket potato and the grab and go section that is incredibly busy.
Again. SO. MUCH. PIZZA!
We must serve 20 large pizzas a day easily.
Then it’s suddenly 1.30pm and break time for us kitchen staff, up to 15 minutes to eat and have a drink then the clear up begins of the food hall and the kitchens. Before we know it, it’s 2.30pm and time to go home.
I think I am going to be really happy here. There will be challenging days but it’s good having such a design of organisation where everything just falls into place
2017 in the workplace is looking very good indeed.
